This Is What Military Plans To Do To Boko Haram Hideouts

The Nigerian Army has said it would demolish any building used as hideouts by members of the Boko Haram sect to perpetuate terrorism.

Maj. Gen. Yusha’u Abubakar, the Theatre Commander of Operations Lafiya Dole announced this on Friday, October 2.

Any facilities that are used to make bombs or used to dress suicide bombers would be leveled,” he said.

Addressing a press conference in Maiduguri, Abubakar said the army was fully committed bringing an end to the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East, Punch reports.

According to him, the army would not give any room for failure or drawbacks.

The commander advised Nigerians to security conscious and report any suspicious character or movement to the military.

He stated that the public would play a big role in the war against insurgency.

Abubakar added that the military would sensitise all stakeholders – traditional rulers, religious leaders, market women and students on what needed to be done in the ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

Two days ago, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai had said the military was determined to meet the set deadline of defeating the Boko Haram insurgents by December.

The Nigerian military had also warned all terrorists to stop their violent activities and embrace peace.
