In the evening of Friday, October 2, the news broke that Nigeria’s former minister of petroleum sources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, was arrested in London.
Four other Nigerians were said to have been also arrested alongside the ex minister. All were reportedly detained over bribery and corruption related offences currently being investigated by the UK National Crime Agency.

As the personality of the former minister has been for years associated with serious controversy and possible corruption cases, the social media immediately exploded with comments on the matter.
Many seem satisfied with the development. Some, however, see witch-hunting carried out by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
This is what Naij.com readers on Facebook say:

Chinedu Obiosa: “Wetin she do dis wicked pple? They should leave the innocent women alone.”
