Facts have emerged on the real masterminds of the deadly explosions that rocked Maiduguri, the Borno state capital on Thursday, October 1, 2015, The Nation reports.
According to security sources, about five young girls masterminded the deadly attacks which left at least 14 people, including the girls, dead and 39 injured.
Sani Usman confirmed the suicide bombings in Maiduguri. telling that at least 14 people died in the Independence day blasts in the capital of Borno state.

According to BBC reports, over 100 people had lost their lives in a similar attack two week, but the recent attacks which the youngsters reportedly masterminded, took place in a mosque and the house of a vigilante member.
The girls, who were said to be about nine years of age, carried out the attacks in the northeastern state despite the fact that Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, had ordered a shift of the Military troops’ base to Maiduguri, in a bid to hastily crush the insurgents.

This recent report is likely to send a cold chill down the spine of the Nigerian Army, who have repeatedly averred that the insurgents were just engaging in panic attacks as all their bases had been adequately subdued by the troops.
