SEE Nigerians Included In The List Of World’s Most Influential Muslims

Several respectable Nigerians have been included in the list of world most influential Muslims.

Premium Times reports that annual publication titled The Muslim 500 and considers 1.7 Muslims all over the world. This time three Nigerians have been listed.

They are President Muhammadu Buhari, Sultan of Sokoto Saád Abubakar and prominent Islamic cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Saleh.

The magazine recognised Buhari’s past military career, his anti-corruption attempts and promises to eliminate Boko Haram.

Also, an extract from the citation reads:

“President Buhari was the first chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and was the mastermind behind the construction of 20 oil depots throughout Nigeria, a project involving over 3200 kilometres of pipelines. Both the Warri and Kaduna refineries were built under his leadership. He also established the blueprints for the country’s petro-chemical and liquefied natural gas programmes.”

It should be recalled that there was outrage among Nigerians when earlier this year Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau was included in The TIME 100 most influential people in the world. Other Nigerians listed were Muhammadu Buhari, Oby Ezekwesili and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
