Speaking at a media briefing after the Exco meeting in Makurdi, Ode Agih, the commissioner for information in Benue state said, the renovation is aimed at giving comforts to the incumbent governor Samuel Ortom.

According to Agih, it had become imperative to renovate the lodge in order to make it habitable for Governor Ortom to occupy and put an end to his continuous stay at his private residence.

Agih said the Exco also gave approval for an 11-man committee to prepare grounds for hosting of prominent sons and daughters of the state, as well as organise a special honour in respect of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu, the second civilian Governor of Benue state.
