The Bindo Jibrilla Adamawa state-led government has been sternly warned not to channel the money meant for twenty-one local government areas of the state to the development of just Yola, the state capital which poses neglect on other parts of the state.

According to The Guardian, the caution was issued in a statement on Monday, September 28, by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) chapter in the state.
In line with that, the party’s chairman, Ibrahim Bebetu, also cautioned the Adamawa governor against misusing the bailout fund secured from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The chairman noted that it was of greater importance for the Adamawa government to look at extending its development plans to those who live in the rural areas of the state.

The chairman inquired: “Why should money meant to be shared among 21 local government areas be spent on projects mainly centered in Jimeta and Yola?”
He urged the state governor not concentrate the government’s projects on just the state capital and Jimeta.
He further advised that the government should be cautious of this concentration in order to avoid the notion of marginalisation from rising.
He said that since the bailout fund has now been granted the Adamawa state that it must be used based on the purpose it was meant for.

The SDP chairman said: “This money was specifically doled out by the Federal Government to pay-off the backlog of salaries owed public workers across the country.”
Meanwhile, there had been reports that three villages were attacked and over 60 houses destroyed in a fresh attack by members of the Boko Haram sect.
According to This Day, the villages attacked by the terrorists include; Sabon Gari, Kafin Hausa and Dutse biyu in Madagali local government area of the state, while valuable properties were destroyed in the affected villages alongside the houses.
