A fresh twist has been added to the crisis currently brewing in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state over the State Working Committee (SWC) decision to ratify the appointment of Dapo Adebisi as the new deputy chairman.

According to The Nation, the SWC led by the party acting chairman, Tunde Olatunde made the decision at a meeting on Monday July 27 at the party secretariat that had in attended 10 state executive members.
The new duputy chairman replaces the former deputy chairman, Femi Bamisile, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) shortly before last year’s governorship election.

Bamisile hails from Ward 5 in Kota, Ekiti East local government area of the state, like his predecessor, Bamisile.
The SWC causes upset when an ally of Governor Ayodele Fayose, Jackson Adebayo, was removed as party’s Publicity Secretary in the state.
Adebayo was named by chairman of Fayose-backed faction, Idowu Faleye, to replace Kola Oluwawole, who resigned to contest for a seat in the state House of Assembly.

Oluwawole won the Assembly poll and was subsequently elected Speaker.
While the new Publicity Secretary is Michael Folorunso Oladipo, who hails from Erinmope Ward 1 in Moba local government area of the state.
