Sad: Four killed In Plane Crash

Four people were killed after a small plane crashed in a field in Wisconsin on Monday, July 27.

Authorities report that, the plane, a single-engine, six-passenger Beech M35 aircraft, crashed in Alden around 5.15pm.


The Polk County sheriff’s office confirmed that the four passengers aboard the plane, died in the crash.

“The plane struck the ground nose first before bursting into flames,” the sheriff’s office told KSTP.


According CBS Minnesota, witnesses said the plane spiraled down and crashed into a ball of flames.


Karen Olson, owner of the property where the plane landed, said she thought the plane was a helicopter when she first heard it but ‘then it disappeared’, she told TwinCities.com.

Olson said she didn’t see the crash which occurred 200 yards away from her home, but only found out about it when a neighbor pounded on her door.


“He said it was kind of twirling around, going down to the ground,” Olson said. Adding: ‘Then it flattened out and he thought they had it (under control), then all of a sudden he said he saw the ball of fire.”


However, Olson told CBS Minnesota that she could only see smoke.

Authorities told KSTP that the plane was still in flames when the first deputies arrived on the scene, “It burned a two-acre area of the field,” they stressed.

Meanwhile, reports have it that the plane took off within 50 miles from the crash site, but would not disclose the exact airport or the plane’s destination as family members had to be notified first.


In Anoka, the Polk County Medical Examiner’s office is conducting the autopsies and working to identify the victims.

Investigations are currently being conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Polk County Sheriff.




In a related development, debris discovered on Wednesday, July 29,  on the island of Réunion seem to finally give answer to one of aviation’s great mysteries; the mystery of a plane carrying 239 people aboard which went missing about 18 months ago.
